Testimonials – Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago
I am the Director for Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago (NHS). Over the years, NHS has become very dependent on the internet and it has become a mission critical requirement for our organization. We run several web-based software applications that staff utilize to perform their job responsibilities.
About 4 years ago, it was decided that we needed to bring in a secondary internet connection to ensure that NHS could continue to do business in the event of a primary provider outage. We conducted research and found BOB. Their service did not rely on traditional land lines to provide us an internet connection. I was skeptical about using wireless internet service. Would the service be interrupted by weather conditions? Is their service reliable? etc. Well, it has been over 4 years since we contracted with BOB and we have been so satisfied with their secure and reliable service that we made them our primary provider.
In 2010, the City of Chicago contracted NHS to conduct 6 Fix Your Mortgage events throughout the City of Chicago and Chicago Community Trust contracted us to conduct 3 Keep Your Home events in the suburbs. At these events, both the City and CCT required us to provide onsite counselors the ability to complete a Request for Modification Application through a website application. This website also has the capability to store scanned copies of client's required documents hence we utilized volunteers to scan client's documents and uploaded as supporting documentation to their case file on the website. All of these events were conducted at various CPS and suburban high schools with either low internet bandwidth or no internet service. We partnered with BOB to provide internet service at the different locations for the 1 day events. To date, we have conducted 6 events with no internet service issues. BOB has even provided us the use of 2 generators as backup in the event of a power failure.
As a result of our great experience with them, we have increased our current bandwidth and signed a new contract.
